As a follow up to ICI's meeting with Indian Government officials on outstanding tax issues, the attached draft letter outlines concerns on capital loss offsets.

On November 29, 2024, Australia enacted legislation to require large multinational enterprises to publicly report selected tax items on a country-by-country basis for specified jurisdictions and either CBC or an aggregated basis for the rest of the world.

On November 6, 2024, the Competent Authorities of the United States and Norway entered into an agreement confirming that Article 20 of the US-Norway tax treaty is not applicable to US regulated investment companies.

On October 24th, the Supreme Court of the State of Washington issued an opinion that could subject investment funds to the state's Business and Occupation (B&O) tax.[1] The tax implications for funds could be significant.

ICI submitted an analysis of tax implications resulting from recent SEC money market fund reforms to the U.S. Treasury and requested a meeting to discuss these tax issues.
