There are lots of opportunities to learn in the role, to really role up your sleeves if you are excited about the subject matter, and excited about reading and understanding and spending time with the traders and financial professionals to understand how it all works.
You don't have to take a direct path for success in asset management. It's a truly great business where you can change majors, have a wide-ranging interests, and pivot while maintaining a successful and lucrative career in a broad and diverse industry.
I enjoyed hearing about the different pathways the panelists took to get into the industry. I thought it was good to demonstrate that there isn't one single way to go about looking for work in this area. I also thought the point about this area being a very small place where everyone knows everyone was useful.
I thought the speakers were really engaging and I learned a lot.
Very informative and really helps a lot to understand the asset management industry in general and the different roles within the industry.
I got an insight of the day to life of an asset manager and also knowing that an entry into the financial career arena is not linear.
