Global Tax Committee Content

The next monthly Tax Committee call will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. ET. The preliminary agenda for the call is attached.

ICI Global submitted the attached letter to the Indian Government for consideration as they prepare the 2022 Union Budget. The letter describes tax issues and proposes recommendations to address the global regulated fund industry's outstanding tax issues.

As discussed on previous tax committee calls, the Indian Government is seeking input for the 2022 Union Budget. ICI Global intends to submit a letter with recommendations to address the global regulated fund industry's outstanding tax issues, in priority order.

ICI today filed the attached complaint with the European Commission (EC) against Italy for violating European law by withholding tax on dividends paid to investment funds organized in the United States and certain other countries when tax is not imposed on comparable Italian funds.

As we discussed with the Tax Committee during our November Committee call, we are surveying members investing in India regarding their filing experiences.
