The Institute is pleased to announce that Bill Smith, President of Pioneering Services
Corporation, has agreed to succeed Ralph Spuehler as the Institutes Operations Committee
Chairman. As many of you know, Bill has long been an active contributor to ICIs operations
programs and he brings a wealth of domestic and international experience to the committees
proceedings from his many years of leadership in the mutual fund operations community.
Please mark your calendar for the next committee meeting which will take place on
April 23, 1998 at the ICI offices in Washington, D.C. A committee dinner is also being arranged
for the evening of April 22nd. Details for the meeting, dinner and hotel accommodations are
forthcoming in the next few weeks.
Also, please mark your calendar for the 1998 Operations Conference and Vendor
Exhibition. It will be held in Chicago, IL on November 1-4.
