The ICI Education Foundation will sponsor the 1997 ICI Securities Law Procedures
Conference on December 4 and 5 at the Sheraton Washington Hotel, 2600 Woodley Road at
Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. Enclosed is the final program brochure.
Barry Barbash, Director of the Division of Investment Management of the U.S. Securities
and Exchange Commission will give the keynote address to begin the conference.
Representatives from the mutual fund industry, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission,
NASD Regulation, Inc., and outside counsel will comprise five panels that will focus their
discussion on current issues including Compliance Issues; Current Rulemaking; Money Market
Fund Issues; No-Action Positions, Interpretations and Exemptive Applications; and relevant
NASD Issues. Please refer to the enclosed brochure for further details.
If you have not yet registered for the conference, please return the registration form and
appropriate fee to the Institutes Conference Division as soon as possible. Conference
registration cancellations made after November 21 will incur a $150 penalty. Please make your
own hotel reservation by calling the Sheraton Washington Hotel at 202/328-2000. To obtain the
preferred room rate of $120 single/$150 double, please call by November 4 and be sure to
