RE: 1997 ICI SECURITIES LAW PROCEDURES CONFERENCE

The 1997 ICI Securities Law Procedures Conference, sponsored by the ICI Education
Foundation, will be held December 4-5 at the Sheraton Washington Hotel, 2600 Woodley Road
at Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. Attached is a brochure describing the
preliminary program and including the registration form.
Representatives from the mutual fund industry, the U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission, NASD Regulation, Inc. and outside counsel will comprise five panels which will
focus on current issues including Compliance Issues; Current Rulemaking; Money Market Fund
Issues; No-Action Positions, Interpretations and Exemptive Applications; and relevant NASD
Issues such as bank disclosure, cash/non-cash compensation and advertising. Please refer to
the enclosed preliminary program for further details.
To register for the conference, please return the registration form at the back of the
brochure with the appropriate fee to the Institutes Conference Division. Conference
registration cancellations made after November 21 will incur a $150 administrative fee. To
make your hotel reservations, please call the Sheraton Washington Hotel at 202/328-2000.
