June 23, 1997 VIA FAX TO: PENSION COMMITTEE No. 23-97 RE: MEETING ON LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS & WRAP ACCOUNTS - JULY 10 ______________________________________________________________________________ Meetings to discuss current legislative proposals and wrap accounts have been scheduled for Thursday July 10, 1997. The meetings will be held in the David Silver Conference Room at the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, 12th Floor, Washington D.C. The legislative proposals meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. A lunch will follow this meeting. The meeting to discuss wrap accounts will begin at 1:30 p.m. The purpose of the legislative proposals meeting is to review current developments in the budget reconciliation process and the Gregg and Graham-Hatch bills.1 We will keep you informed of the latest developments with this legislation.2 The purpose of the wrap accounts meeting is to discuss the various individual exemptions granted for "wrap accounts" or asset allocation arrangements and to determine whether the Institute should propose a class exemption in this area. In advance of the meeting, a memo describing the various individual exemptions for wrap account arrangements will be sent to attendees. To assist us in obtaining an accurate registration of attendees, please indicate on the attached response form if you or an alternate plan to attend the meetings and the luncheon. Kathryn A.
