RE: REVISED DRAFT COMMENT LETTER ON PROFILE PROSPECTUS

Attached please find a revised draft of the Institute’s comment letter to the Securities
and Exchange Commission regarding proposed profile prospectus rules. Institute comments
discussing the adaptation of the profile for the retirement plan markets appear on pages 16-19
of the draft. Portions of the first draft that were revised are marked in the enclosed draft. Most
notably, a recommendation in the first draft regarding the ability to bind or package multiple
profiles in a single booklet for retirement plan participants was removed.
