Enclosed is the final brochure describing the program for the 1996 Mutual Fund
Training Conference which the Institute is sponsoring on June 12-14, at the Capital Hilton Hotel
in Washington, D.C.
We are very pleased to inform you that Jack Murphy, Associate Director (Chief Counsel)
of the Division of Investment Management at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
will give the keynote address on Wednesday morning. Additionally, Clark Hooper, Vice
President of Advertising/Investment Companies Regulation for the National Association of
Securities Dealers will be the luncheon speaker on Thursday, June 13. Both Mr. Murphy and
Ms. Hooper have made valuable contributions to our conferences in the past and we welcome
their participation.
As indicated in the brochure, this conference covers the basic areas of mutual fund
management, operation and regulation. It promises to have wide appeal and we encourage
you to send in the attached registration form as soon as possible if you plan to attend. The cut-
off date to obtain the preferred room rate at the Capital Hilton is Tuesday, May 21, so please
