RE: REVISED DRAFT INSTITUTE COMMENT ON DOL PROPOSED PLAN ASSET
REGULATION

Attached please find a revised draft of comments the Institute is preparing to submit to
the Department of Labor regarding its proposed regulation, which would amend the time
frame in which plan assets must be deposited in trust. This draft reflects comments provided
by the Committee on February 6 and by those in attendance at the meeting discussing DOL
enforcement activity on February 7.
Please provide the undersigned with any comments, either by fax at (202) 326-5839 or
telephone at (202) 326-5835, by close of business, Monday, February 12. As discussed at the
meetings, we are also interested in obtaining cost estimates of implementing the Department’s
proposal, which could be used in oral testimony.
