SEC Chairman Arthur Levitt today spoke to the National Press
Club concerning the need to make mutual fund prospectuses more
readable and to otherwise do a better job of educating fund
shareholders.
We are using the attached statement to respond to questions
from the news media. A copy of Chairman Levitt's speech will be
