RE: LEGISLATIVE SUMMARY FOR NEVIS BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEETING

As Matt Fink noted in his January 3rd memorandum to you, the Board of
Governors meeting on Nevis will include a discussion (the second part of the
morning session on Wednesday, January 26) devoted to issues raised by the recent
introduction of bank mutual fund legislative proposals. These proposals include
bills introduced by House Banking Committee Chairman Henry Gonzalez, House Energy
and Commerce Committee Chairman John D. Dingell, and Congressman Richard Neal.
To aid in your review of this proposed legislation, we have attached a
section-by-section analysis of these three bills (H.R. 3347, 3306 and 3389). I
look forward to seeing you on Nevis.
