The Department of Labor's ERISA Advisory Council has formed a work group
on prohibited transaction exemptions, the purpose of which is explained in more
detail in the attached materials.
The work group has invited the Institute to testify at its September
meeting; therefore, a meeting has been scheduled on Thursday, September 2, at
10:00 a.m. at the Institute to discuss the industry's experience with and
suggestions concerning the prohibited transaction exemption process. Please
