I regret that I have to inform you that Donald O'Connor,
Vice President - Operations of the Institute, suffered a heart
attack on Friday, March 19, 1993 and is hospitalized in the
cardiac care unit at Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton,
Maryland. Don has come through the critical first 48 hours as
well as can be expected. Plans are to transfer Don to Georgetown
University Hospital in Washington, DC within the next several
days.
Cards and letters may be sent to Don's home, 1700 Taylor
Avenue, Ft. Washington, Maryland 20744.
Assuming a normal recovery, we expect Don to return to work
in six to eight weeks. In the interim, Donald Boteler, Assistant
Vice President - Operations, is in charge of the Operations
Department.
I am sure that you all join me in wishing Don a speedy
recovery.
