RE: SPECIAL MEETING OF RULES COMMITTEE DURING PROCEDURES
CONFERENCE

In prior years, in conjunction with the Procedures
Conference, there has been a special meeting of members of the
Institute’s SEC Rules Committee with members of the staff of the
SEC Division of Investment Management. This year, we have
scheduled such a meeting to take place from 4:10 to 5:00 pm on
Thursday, December 3, in the Farragut Room at the Grand Hyatt
Hotel.
Tom Harman, Bob Plaze, Carolyn Lewis and Jeremy Rubenstein
of the staff of the Division of Investment Management have agreed
to meet with members of the Institute’s SEC Rules Committee (or
their designated alternates) to discuss generic filing and
registration issues. The meeting will be closed to any
individuals who are not Institute members, or members of the SEC
staff.
If you are not planning to attend our conference this year,
you may pass this information along to someone from your firm who
will be attending. Please call Susan Burgess at 202/955-3513 or
Kathleen Volpe at 202/955-8418 to give us names of those who will
attend. Alternatively, you may sign up with either one of us at
the conference. We would appreciate knowing in advance of the
meeting, however, the names of attendees.
