The Institute is preparing an updated version of its 1987
survey of state laws concerning withholding on pension and other
retirement payments. (See Institute Memorandum to Pension
Members No. 30-87, Tax Members No. 24-87, Operation Members No.
19-87, Unit Investment Trust Members No. 30-87 and Transfer Agent
Shareholder Advisory Committee No. 12-87 dated July 21, 1987 and
Institute Memorandum to Pension Committee No. 13-87 dated October
8, 1987.)
To assist us in this project we would appreciate receiving
any information that your organization may have on this subject,
so that it will not be necessary to contact the states directly.
Please forward any relevant information on withholding or other
sources of information to me by Friday, February 14.
