RE: Reform of the Government Debt Market

At its last meeting held on October 3, 1991, the Investment
Issues Committee instructed ICI staff to explore the views within
the industry on a variety of issues related to proposals to
reform the government debt market and to formulate an industry
postion on the subject.
Following the meeting, the members of the Committee
designated experts from their respective complexes to serve on an
Industry Task Force set up to examine various aspects of the
reform proposals and to advise the ICI as needed. The Task Force
was formed soon thereafter and held its first meeting on October
23, 1991, in Washington, DC.
The minutes of this meeting are attached for your
information.
