The next meeting of the Committee on Industry Statistics will be
held on Thursday, November 7th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in
Arlington, Virginia. The meeting will be held at:

Included in the agenda for this meeting is a status report on the
FUNDS II system and any information regarding the use of FUNDS,
including third party vendor information.
We will be discussing the use of technology in the data
collection process. The NASDAQ feed has proven to be immensely
helpful. We would like to receive member input regarding the use
of telephone-to-computer data collection possibilities.
ICI concerns about the growing number of non-reporters will be an
agenda item. We will brief you on the steps that we have taken
to encourage regular reporting and the effectiveness of these
steps thus far. We will ask for any comments or suggestions
regarding the reduction in the number of non-reporters.
The Institute's annual Source of Sales survey does not precisely
determine trends in the use of distribution channels. We would
like members to define the purpose for collecting this data, as
well as help us to identify and define the channels so that we
can make this a more useful survey.
