RE: APPLICATION OF SEC FEE INCREASE

The SEC announced today that it will apply the increased
registration fees that have been approved by Congress to any
filing made on or after the date on which the President signs the
legislation. This is the same interpretation that was made when
registration fees were last raised in 1989. Thus, any Rule 24f-2
notice filed on or after the date the legislation is signed into
law should be computed on the basis of 1/32 of 1% of the offering
price, rather than 1/40 of 1%, regardless of when the fund's
sales or redemptions actually occurred.
The President has not yet signed the legislation to
increase registration fees. We will keep you informed of
developments.
