Pension Operations Advisory Committee RE: Recording of Webinar on OECD's Global Retirement Savings Reports Now Available
A recording is now available of the webinar hosted by the Global Retirement Savings Committee on 9 April 2019 on the OECD’s two publications, the 2018 Pensions Outlook[1] and Financial Incentives and Retirement Savings[2]. The OECD speakers also discussed trends in defined contribution pension reforms (including discussion of efforts to increase participation, the shift away from long-term guarantees, and default options) and implications for our industry.

Two guest speakers from the OECD provided the presentation:
- Pablo Antolin-Nicolas, Principal Economist and the Head of the Private Pension Unit, Deputy Head of the Financial Affairs Division, and
- Stephanie Payet, Private Pension Analyst, Financial Affairs Division.
Our speakers provided an overview of both reports, with a focus on the 2018 Pensions Outlook, which includes analysis of (globally):
- The role of supplementary pension provision in retirement globally,
- Design of financial incentives to promote savings for retirement across the globe,
- Pension costs in the accumulation phase, and
- How to improve retirement incomes considering behavioral biases and limited financial knowledge.
