TO: CLOSED-END INVESTMENT COMPANY COMMITTEE No. 21-16 RE: NOTICE OF CLOSED-END INVESTMENT COMPANY MEETING AND DINNER - WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 2 2016; DRAFT AGENDA ATTACHED
As you know, the next meeting of the Closed-End Investment Company Committee will take place Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at the offices of Virtus Investment Partners, Inc., 1540 Broadway, 16th Floor, New York, New York 10036. The meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. and end no later than 5:00 p.m.
We are pleased to inform you that Jon Hertzke, Assistant Director, Risk and Examinations Office, Division of Investment Management, will join us to talk about the recent work his office has been doing. In addition, Jennifer Gonzalez and Kristina Zanotti from K&L Gates will join us to talk about the Department of Labor’s fiduciary standards rule and its implications on closed-end funds.
Draft Agenda
Attached is a draft agenda for the meeting. One item that we will discuss is the draft letter we previously circulated requesting that the NYSE exempt closed-end funds from its annual meeting requirements. During the meeting, we will seek a recommendation from the Committee on whether to proceed with filing the letter (latest draft attached).
