TO: VARIABLE INSURANCE PRODUCTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 18-13 RE: MARK YOUR CALENDAR - VARIABLE INSURANCE PRODUCTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING ON DECEMBER 18, 2013

 

The next meeting of the Variable Insurance Products Advisory Committee has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.  Please note that this is the first telephonic meeting of the Committee, although if your firm is in the Washington, D.C. area, or you otherwise plan to be in the area that day, you are welcome to join us in person at the offices of the Investment Company Institute, 1401 H Street, N.W., 12th Floor, Washington, DC.  As discussed at prior meetings, beginning with this meeting, our December meetings will be telephonic (with the option to attend in person), and our June meetings will be held in person. 

We will be introducing a new format at this December 18th telephonic meeting.  Susan Nash, Associate Director, and Bill Kotapish, Assistant Director, of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, will be joining us at the beginning of the meeting to discuss recent SEC initiatives in the insurance products area.  After their remarks, we will provide an opportunity for members to lead a series of short discussions on issues on which you would like to solicit your colleagues’ feedback (i.e., “shop talk”).  We therefore request that, either on the online form or in an email to sarah.bessin@ici.org, you include questions or topics you would like to raise with your colleagues at the meeting.  We also plan to discuss other timely issues of interest to the Committee.
