TO: INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE No. 49-12
The next meeting of the Institute’s International Committee will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. The meeting will be held at the Institute’s offices in Washington, D.C. and in London at the offices of ICI Global.
The meeting will begin at 12 p.m. Eastern time and 5 p.m. London time and will last for approximately 2 hours. Lunch will be available at the U.S. location before the meeting.
A preliminary agenda for the International Committee meeting is attached. We are expecting a full meeting and, as always, welcome your active participation. We have arranged for David Grim from the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management to present to the Committee on IOSCO’s 2013 agenda and how it will impact registered funds.
In addition, Susan and Eva will provide an update of their meetings with the Securities and Exchange Board of India and others during their early January trip to Mumbai. The purpose of this trip is, among other things, to discuss the application of India’s KYC requirements to U.S. RICs and concerns about the requirement that information be stored at the KYC registration agency.
We will also have updates by ICI staff on various issues that impact members with global operations, including capital markets reforms, European developments (e.g., AIFMD and UCITS), and FATCA. Lastly, we will leave time for Committee members to raise issues on which they wish to seek input from other members. We encourage members to contact us ahead of time with issues that they want to discuss, or to raise issues during the meeting.
Committee members may participate in person at one of these two locations:
