A conference call will be held on Thursday, June 9, at 2:00 p.m. (Eastern), as decided during yesterday’s Tax Committee meeting, to discuss the FBAR reporting extension provided by FinCEN Notice 2011-1. [1] A draft ICI letter, that will be distributed in advance of the call, interprets the signature authority reporting extension to apply to officers and employees of authorized service providers and their affiliates. This broad definition of authorized service provider originally was proposed by the ICI. [2]
