TO: TAX COMMITTEE No. 4-09 RE: IRS SEEKS COMMENTS REGARDING GUIDANCE ON COST BASIS REPORTING
The Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) has issued the attached Notice 2009-17requesting comments on issues that should be addressed in guidance implementing the new mandatory cost basis reporting requirements. The IRS invites interested parties to submit comments on the notice by Monday, March 2, 2009.
