Today, the President signed the Worker, Retiree, and Employer Recovery Act of 2008 (H.R. 7327), passed by the House and the Senate earlier this month. [1] As we reported earlier, the new law includes a temporary waiver of 2009 required minimum distribution rules and makes technical corrections to the Pension Protection Act of 2006.
We will hold a conference call to discuss operational and compliance issues related to the 2009 RMD provisions, including whether any Treasury/IRS guidance may be needed, at 3 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, December 30th, 2008.
