Conference Call Scheduled for Thursday, August 3 at 3:00 PM ET to Discuss Proposed Changes to Form 5500

[20217] July 26, 2006 TO: PENSION COMMITTEE No. 25-06 PENSION OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 24-06 RE: CONFERENCE CALL SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 3 AT 3:00 PM ET TO DISCUSS PROPOSED CHANGES TO FORM 5500 A conference call has been scheduled for Thursday, August 3, 2006, at 3:00 PM ET to discuss the Department of Labor’s proposed changes to Form 5500. Most notably, the proposed changes would revise Schedule C to require disclosure of significantly more information regarding service provider compensation, including information on certain bundled arrangements and payments received by service providers from others in connection with services provided to the plan (e.g. revenue sharing). The proposed changes also will require significantly more disclosure from 403(b) plans.1 The purpose of the call is to develop industry comments on the new Schedule C and other Form 5500 changes. DOL’s deadline for comments is September 19, 2006.
