RE: SEC TO CONSIDER PUBLICATION OF REVISIONS TO PROPOSED REGULATION
NMS
The SEC has announced that on December 15, 2004 it intends to consider whether to
publish revisions to proposed Regulation NMS.1 Specifically, given that SEC staff
recommendations on the proposal differ in some respects from the Regulation NMS rule text
originally proposed, the staff intends to provide the public an opportunity to review the details
of those recommendations prior to final Commission action. According to the SEC’s press
release, final Commission action on Regulation NMS is expected early next year.
