RE: TAX COMMITTEE CONFERENCE CALL APRIL 28 ON FOREIGN QDI AND INDIA
There will be a conference call for the Tax Committee on Wednesday, April 28 at 4:00
pm (Eastern).
The purpose of the call is to discuss: (1) Treasury’s proposal, as outlined in Notice 2003-
79, to provide a safe harbor for reporting qualified dividend income for foreign securities whose
issuers who have certified compliance with the statutory requirements (including the “equity
test,” the “treaty test,” and the “PFIC test”); and (2) current developments in India.
