RE: AGENDAS AND MATERIALS FOR OCTOBER TAX COMMITTEE MEETINGS
The next meetings of the Tax Committee will be held, as previously announced,1 on
Wednesday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. (preceded by lunch) and Thursday, October 30 at 9:30 a.m.
(followed by lunch) in the David Silver Conference Room, on the 12th floor of the Institute’s
offices at 1401 H Street, NW, Washington, DC 20005.
October 29 and 30 Tax Committee Meetings
The Subcommittee meeting on October 29 will involve a discussion of (1) implementing
the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief and Reconciliation Act of 2003 (JGTRRA) and (2) time
permitting, a draft “white paper” of issues relating to distressed debt. The Tax Committee
meeting on October 30 will discuss all of the issues contained in the attached preliminary
agenda. Please contact Keith Lawson (202/326-5832 or lawson@ici.org), Cathy Barré (202/326-
5821 or cbarre@ici.org), or David Orlin (202/371-5436 or dorlin@ici.org) if you would like to
suggest additional agenda items for the October 30 meeting.
October 29 Evening Events
Two alternative events are being planned for the evening of October 29 for interested
Committee members. First, arrangements are being made for dinner at a close-by restaurant.
Second, Washington Management Corporation has provided the Committee with their box at
the MCI Center for the Washington Capitals-Anaheim Mighty Ducks hockey game. Depending
on interest in the game, we may need to purchase additional tickets to the game, the cost of
which will be divided among all attendees.
