RE: JULY 28TH CONFERENCE CALL TO DISCUSS JGTRRA
A conference call of the ICI’s Tax Committee will be held Monday, July 28th at 2:00 pm
(EST) to discuss the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003. Most specifically,
we will discuss the Institute’s recent meeting with Treasury regarding international issues and a
follow-up submission we are preparing. In advance of the call, we would appreciate receiving
any data you have regarding the following categories of foreign securities (e.g., number or
amount of securities in your funds and/or as a percentage of the total) in your portfolios.
• Foreign securities that trade on a US exchange
• ADRs that trade on a US exchange (other than the pink sheets)
• ADRs that trade on the NASDAQ pink sheets
• Foreign securities of companies resident in “good” treaty countries that are not
traded on a US exchange
o Portion of these securities that are local shares for which an ADR also
exists
• Foreign securities of companies that are not resident in “good” treaty countries
and are not traded on a US exchange
o Portion of these securities that are local shares for which an ADR also
exists
