RE: INSTITUTE SUBMISSION TO SEC ON UIT YIELD FORMULA

At meetings held on November 9 and November 20, a joint
task force consisting of representatives of the Unit Investment
Committee and the mutual fund industry reviewed the draft
proposal on unit investment trust advertising prepared by the
Unit Investment Trust Committee. As a result of those meetings,
certain changes were made to the proposal, which was then
submitted to and approved by the Institute's Executive Committee.
Attached is a memorandum setting forth the changes made to the
original proposal.
A draft letter submitting the revised proposal to the SEC
will be circulated shortly.
