[15081] August 29, 2002 TO: PENSION COMMITTEE No. 35-02 PENSION OPERATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE No. 59-02 RE: CONFERENCE CALL TO DISCUSS DEEMED IRAs — WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2002 AT 2:00 PM EDT A conference call has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. EDT to discuss deemed IRAs – contributions made through an employer’s qualified plan, which may be designated as either a traditional IRA or a Roth IRA. Effective in 2003, employers may choose to offer employees the choice to contribute to a deemed IRA. This call will consider, among other things, whether deemed IRAs should be subject to IRA rules, qualified plan rules, or a mixture of both.
