This conference will focus on the impact of the recently enacted International Money Laundering Abatement and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act of 2001 on mutual fund complexes. Panels will include discussions on customer identification and verification, strategies for monitoring and reporting suspicious activities, and complex-wide case studies on designing an effective anti-money laundering compliance program. In addition, we intend to invite officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of the Treasury, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control to participate in a question and answer session at the end of the program. A detailed conference program, including registration information, will be mailed in the next several weeks.
