2) PRELIMINARY AGENDA FOR SEPTEMBER 12, 2001 MEETING
The Investment Company Institute is pleased to announce that Ghassan Hakim, Senior
Vice President of Franklin Templeton, has agreed to chair the newly formed International
Operations Advisory Committee. Ghassan has been an active contributor to the Institute and
brings substantial industry knowledge and experience to this role. Please join us in welcoming
Ghassan as your new chairman.
The next meeting of the Committee is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2001 in
the David Silver Conference Room on the 12th floor of the ICI, 1401 H Street, NW, Washington,
D.C. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. (30 minutes earlier than originally
announced) and is expected to conclude by approximately 2:00 p.m. Continental breakfast and
lunch will be provided.
Attached is the preliminary agenda. We are pleased to be hosting two guest speakers
for the committee. Steven K. Miyao, CEO of kasina, LLC will be presenting “Servicing Financial
Advisors Online – European Mutual Fund Distribution” and Hubbard R. Garber, CFA of
Barrington Partners will be discussing “The Development of the Global TA Platform.”
