RE: MEETING REGARDING INDEXATION OF CAPITAL GAINS

As set forth in the attached memorandum, a meeting of the
Institute's Tax Committee and Accounting/Treasurer Committee has
been scheduled for 2 p.m. on August 29th at the Capitol Hilton
Hotel. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss issues
raised for mutual funds and their shareholders by proposals to
index equity securities and certain other capital assets. In the
event that your firm is not represented on the Institute's Tax
Committee or Accounting/Treasurer Committee (please see the
attached list), you may wish to send a representative to the
meeting.
