RE: MEETING NOTICE, JUNE 23, 1989

A meeting of the Marketing Committee has been called for
10:00 a.m. Friday, June 23, 1989 in the Institute Offices, 1600 M
Street, N.W., Suite 600, Washington, D.C. The purpose of the
meeting will be to evaluate the potential competitive effects of
the sale of products backed by credit card loans and other types
of personal property on sale of shares of traditional investment
companies, so that the Institute can determine whether or not to
take legal action. More information on this subject is being
sent to you under separate cover.
We also plan to review the Institute's marketing research
program at this meeting.
Lunch will be served and we expect to conclude the meeting
by 2:00 p.m.
