RE: 1999 MUTUAL FUND COMPLIANCE CONFERENCE - PRELIMINARY PROGRAM

As previously announced, the Institute will hold its first Mutual Fund Compliance Conference on
Thursday and Friday, June 10 & 11, 1999, at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Avenue,
NW, Washington, D.C. Enclosed are the preliminary program and a registration form.
The Conference is designed for experienced mutual fund industry professionals with regulatory
compliance responsibilities. It will feature panels covering a variety of mutual fund compliance issues,
including: portfolio compliance; money laundering compliance; money market fund compliance;
compliance issues associated with non-traditional fund structures; trading and other issues; international
compliance issues; codes of ethics; advertising compliance; and distribution compliance.
To register for the Conference, please return the registration form and the appropriate fee to the
Institute’s Conference Division as soon as possible. The registration deadline is May 27th. Please make
your own hotel reservations by calling the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel at 202/347-3000. To ensure the
preferred room rate of $199.00 single/double, please make your reservation no later than May 19th, and
be sure to identify yourself as an Investment Company Institute conference attendee.
