The Institute is drafting a comment letter in response to IRS Announcement 98-621, which
seeks comments regarding the implementation of regulations that would facilitate the use of new
technologies in plan administration. The IRS specifically seeks comment regarding the manner in
which election, consent and disclosure requirements can be satisfied in a "paperless" environment.
A conference call has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, September 10, 1998, to
discuss ideas for a comment letter. If you plan to participate in the September 10 conference call,
