Enclosed please find a copy of the results of the Y2K survey as of June 12, 1998. The
questionnaire was initially circulated in March of this year with a second request for responses circulated
in May. The Institute wishes to thank all those who are listed as respondents for assisting us in
demonstrating to the SEC and others that the mutual fund industry is diligently at work addressing the
Y2K problem. (The aggregate results were provided to the SEC to assist in the Commission’s report to
Congress on securities industry Y2K compliance.)
If your firm is not listed among the participants, we would appreciate your taking a few minutes
to complete and fax the enclosed questionnaire to Agnes Thomas at fax no. 202-326-8314. Given the
possibility that the Institute may be requested to testify at Congressional hearings on Y2K preparedness,
we would hope to have our data reflect as great a coverage of the industry as possible.
