ICI Statement on the Passing of Former SEC Chairman Donaldson

Washington, DC, June 15, 2024—Investment Company Institute (ICI) President and CEO Eric J. Pan released the following statement on the passing of the 27th Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), William Donaldson:

“ICI is saddened to hear of the passing of former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission William Donaldson. Chairman Donaldson was a remarkable public servant. During his time leading the SEC, the Commission undertook comprehensive reform aimed at protecting fund investors and upholding their confidence in fund investing as a vital tool to achieve their long-term financial goals. We send our condolences to his family and loved ones.”
