Enclosed is the final program and a registration form for the Regional Forum in Boston, to be held on Monday, June 8th, and the Regional Forum in New York, scheduled for Thursday, June 11th. Although the enclosed brochure indicates that the registration deadline is May 22, please note that the Institute will accept registrations through June 5. The Forums will feature a case study conducted as a business school class by Professor Peter Tufano of Harvard Business School, focusing on fair value pricing and related issues. John Rea, Chief Economist at the Institute, will then moderate a panel on industry trends that will include Geoff Bobroff, President of Bobroff Consulting, Inc. and Kurt Cerulli, Principal, Cerulli Associates, Inc. We are pleased to announce that Barry Barbash, Director of the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, will make informal remarks at the luncheon at the New York Forum, and that Juan Marcel Marcelino, District Administrator of the SEC’s Boston District Office, will speak at lunch at the Boston Forum. The afternoon session will be an interactive exercise, facilitated by Kathryn McGrath of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and Meyrick Payne of Management Practice Inc., which will provide directors with an opportunity to share their thoughts with their peers on the differences between the decision making responsibilities of fund directors, the management company, and certain other professionals with respect to various mutual fund issues. For more information about the Forum programs, please contact me at 202/326-5813. If you have questions regarding registration for a Forum, please contact the Institute’s Conference Division at 202/326-5968. Marguerite C. Bateman Associate Counsel Enclosure
