[9573] January 6, 1998 TO: SMALL FUNDS COMMITTEE No. 1-98 STATE LIAISON COMMITTEE No. 1-98 UNIT INVESTMENT TRUST COMMITTEE No. 1-98 RE: NASAA NAMES INVESTMENT COMPANY LIAISON; INSTITUTE SOLICITS COMMENTS ON FORM NF ______________________________________________________________________________ NASAA has eliminated the Investment Company Advisory Committee as a standing committee in 1998. Instead, Diane Young-Spitzer, the former chair of the Advisory Committee, has been named liaison for investment company issues. As such, she may consider issues or undertake projects on an ad hoc basis. In response to concerns raised by the Institute, Ms. Young-Spitzer, in her capacity as NASAA liaison, has agreed to consider amending Form NF in an effort to eliminate the need for a separate Nebraska sales report. She also has indicated a willingness to consider other amendments to the form. Accordingly, the Institute is soliciting member comment on whether there are items on Form NF that should be amended or that would benefit from further explanation in the Instructions. Additional comments concerning your experience with Form NF are also welcome. In order to afford members with December 31 fiscal year ends the opportunity to evaluate the use of Form NF for reporting sales, we are requesting comments by March 6. If you have any questions, please contact me. Comments may be submitted by telephone at (202)326-5813, by facsimile at (202)326-5839 or by e-mail at bateman@ici.org. Marguerite C.
