REQUEST FOR SPEAKERS AT HUNGARIAN PENSION CONFERENCE

[9457] December 5, 1997 TO: ACCOUNTING POLICY SUBCOMMITTEE No. 2-97 INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE No. 44-97 RE: REQUEST FOR SPEAKERS AT HUNGARIAN PENSION CONFERENCE ______________________________________________________________________________ The Hungarian mandatory defined contribution system will begin on January 1, 1998. The new system establishes a mandatory defined contribution system to supplement Hungary’s pay as you go social security system. Attached is a brief description of the new pension system. The State Private Funds Supervision (SPFS) will hold a two-day pension conference on January 29 and 30, 1998 and is interested in finding one or two Institute members to speak about the role of mutual funds in retirement savings systems. Participants would have to pay their own travel expenses.
