AUGUST 8TH MEETING WITH NYSE

July 23, 1997 TO: CLOSED-END INVESTMENT COMPANY COMMITTEE No. 27-97 RE: AUGUST 8TH MEETING WITH NYSE ______________________________________________________________________________ We will be meeting with Richard Grasso, Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, on August 8, 1997 to discuss the possibility of establishing a Closed-End Fund Advisory Committee at the NYSE. Such a committee would be involved in considering and providing advice with respect to issues particular to closed-end funds that are listed on the NYSE (e.g., NYSE voting procedures). In anticipation of that meeting, we are very interested in receiving any suggestions that you may have with respect to issues that such a committee should consider.
