RE: JUNE 18 MEETING ON PENDING PENSION LEGISLATION TO FOLLOW
COMMITTEE MEETING

We have scheduled a meeting to discuss technical issues arising from pension
provisions in the revenue reconciliation bill currently being considered by Congress. This
meeting will directly follow the Pension Committee meeting, which is scheduled for 1:30 on
Wednesday, June 18 at the Institute offices at 1401 H Street. The meeting will begin at
approximately 3:45 PM.
Attached to this memorandum, you will find an additional memo describing the
relevant pension provisions in the "Revenue Reconciliation Act" reported out of the House
Ways and Means Committee on June 13. Additionally, we are sending for your review relevant
bill language and accompanying explanatory text by Federal Express for Monday delivery to all
who have informed us that they will be attending the Pension Committee meeting. All others
will receive the bill language by regular mail.
Our discussion will focus on identifying technical problems with the American Dream
IRA and the Education Investment Account proposals.
Please fax back the attached sheet indicating whether or not you will be able to attend
the additional meeting.
