RE: Schedule of Events for May 7, 1997 Meeting

As you were previously notified, the Board of Governors will meet on Wednesday May 7, 1997 at
the Institutes offices. A Washington Briefing has been scheduled to follow the meeting. Mr.
Frank Zarb, President and CEO of the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc., will
address the Board and respond to questions. Attached is Mr. Zarbs biography and a recent article
describing his work at the NASD. We expect that the session will end no later than 2:30 pm. The
full days schedule is as follows:
8:00 am IMPAC Breakfast Event

9:30 am Board of Governors Meeting
12:00 pm Lunch and Presentation by Mr. Frank Zarb
2:30 pm Adjourn
