MAY 2 WASHINGTON BRIEFING

April 23, 1996 TO: BOARD OF GOVERNORS No. 15-96 RE: MAY 2 WASHINGTON BRIEFING ______________________________________________________________________________ In conjunction with the May Board of Governors meeting, the Public Affairs Department has scheduled the fifth annual Board of Governors Washington Briefing. A copy of the proposed agenda is attached. The Board will be addressed during lunch by one of three Members of Congress: Senator Alan Simpson (Chairman, Senate Social Security and Family Policy Subcommittee), Congressman Henry Hyde (Chairman, House Judiciary Committee), or Congressman Michael Oxley (Vice Chairman, House Telecommunications and Finance Subcommittee). The luncheon will conclude in time to proceed as a group to the Old Executive Office Building for an afternoon briefing by top Clinton Administration officials. The Honorable Laura DAndrea Tyson, Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, and the Honorable Lawrence H. Summers, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, have confirmed. We are awaiting a response from Assistant Secretary of Labor Olena Berg and Mr. Douglas Sosnick, the Assistant to the President for Political Affairs. The briefings will take place in the Indian Treaty Room of the Old Executive Office Building from 1:30 to 4:00 pm. Please return the attached response form to the Institute at your earliest convenience. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE WHITE HOUSE BRIEFING, WE ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THE SECRET SERVICE WITH EACH PARTICIPANTS DATE OF BIRTH.
