RE: Ceremony Honoring Three Former Institute Chairmen

At the dinner for the Board of Governors on Tuesday, January 30 in Palm Beach, Florida, we will honor
three former Chairmen of the Institute who in the last year have stepped down from the Board after many
years of distinguished service to the investment company industry and the Institute. The honorees are
John R. Haire, Chairman from 1968-69; George S. Bissell, Chairman from 1982-84; and Thomas R.
powers, Chairman from 1988-90.
The Institute will present a token of appreciation on behalf of the Board and membership to each of the
honorees, and there will be time for any Governor who wishes to recall any memories of working with
these three, be they serious or humorous, to do so.
