RE: Joint Winter Committee Meetings Reminder #3

It’s not too late to register for the Institute’s Joint Winter Committee Meetings being held at the
Sonesta Beach Resort Key Biscayne in Miami, Florida January 15-18, 1996. Many of you have
made hotel reservations but have not sent your registration fee to the Institute. If you have not,
kindly return the attached registration form to the Institute’s conference division.
The hotel cut off date is December 15th, however room availability is extremely limited. You
may still be able to secure reservations at the ICI conference rate of $175. The telephone
number is (305) 361-2021. You must identify yourself as attending the Investment Company
Institute Meeting. If you are unable to secure a room reservation, please call the ICI Conference
Director, Reece Thompson, directly at (202) 326-5967. She will be happy to assist you.
The proposed agendas for the main program and the individual committee meetings are
attached. Many of the committee meetings are open unless otherwise indicated on the
schedule. The general session program looks very interesting with Sandy West chairing a panel
on "Risk Disclosure" with Don Phillips, Morningstar, and John Markese, American Association
of Individual Investors. Dr. John Shoven, Stanford University, will address the concerns with
Social Security and what that situation could mean for the mutual fund industry. Matt Fink
will also provide a timely update of the Washington Scene.
With the recent arctic blast covering most of the nation, Southern Florida seems the perfect
locale to start the New Year. We hope to see you there.
